We have the results and I’ve learned a couple lessons! The biggest one being that I should’ve just signed up for a StrawPoll account so I could embed the poll straight into the blog post instead of it being a mere hyperlink. Of course, actively maintaining the blog and socials also helps, but life sometimes does its thing. I’m trying not to let it actively drain me this year.1
The important thing is that people voted and, while we have a tie, the opening photo is a dead giveaway as to what games I plan on tackling in the next couple months. Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut was the launch game I was most excited for to the point that I actually pre-ordered it before my Switch 2 was in the post2. Kiwami 2 was one I didn’t expect3 to make its way to the console so quickly…and the game I still need to beat.
This also works out considering how I planned on doing the two-or-three-part review of the Switch 2 last year…
- More or less showing off the console itself—plus the Joy-Con charging grip, proprietary case, some new software perks a and quirks, etc.4
- A brief look into backwards compatibility and the promise of upgrade packs. (I’m going with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter and No Man’s Sky to showcase the latter.)
- A review of the aformentioned launch game.
This doesn’t mean that I won’t review Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. I might save that one for later in the year.
Until then, have a good weekend!

I owe that to last year’s therapy sessions. If you are able and feel like therapy can help you, GO! ↩︎

That and I still had some eShop funds lying around so I got it for US $40 instead of the list price of $50. ↩︎

Nor the 3rd to come out months after that one, but I won’t be covering that one. ↩︎

Which has since been replaced with a more refined (and protective) satchel. ↩︎
